The Business Management Examination Preparation Lectures will take place on Saturday October 15 in the Casey Plaza Theatre at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Bowen St Melbourne. The presenter, Debra McNaughton, is an experienced Business Management Examination assessor and teacher who is perfectly positioned to provide students with the best possible examination preparation.
Debra McNaughton (B.A., Dip Ed) is an experienced teacher of Business Management and is current Head of Humanities at Padua College. Debra has a background in both the public and private sectors and has over 10 years experience as a Business Management examination assessor. Debra is the author of ‘Business Notes’, is co-author of ‘A+ Business Management Practice Exams’, and is an educational consultant working on business studies videos. She is a regular contributor to the VCTA’s journal Compak, including writing several of the recent practice exams; and has presented many PD sessions for Business Management and Economics teachers at Comview, the annual VCTA conference.
All CPAP Exam preparation lectures include advice on areas to focus, clarification of common errors made by past students, tips on how to allocate your precious time, strategies to assist you to interpret questions and structure responses, an analysis of the most difficult questions and terms from past exams and an analysis of possible questions in light of recent international developments. You will also be provided with comprehensive notes to take home!
Session 1 (Exam preparation – Unit 3 related issues) - 9.10am – 10.35am
In this session, Debra will use her experience as a Business Management examination assessor to guide students through the steps or ‘formula’ required for the preparation of well presented and concise responses.
Her focus will be on those questions relating to the context in which large scale organisations (LSOs) operate in Australia, the internal environments of these organisations, as well as an evaluation of the strategies related to the operations management function within LSOs.
Session 2 (Exam preparation – Unit 4 related issues ) - 10.45am - 12.10pm
In this session, Debra will focus will be on those questions relating to the practices and processes related to the human resource management function within LSOs as well as the analysis and evaluation of the management of change in LSOs and the impact that this change on their internal environments.
Session 3: Question and Answer Session - 12.15pm - 12.45pm
Debra will host a 30 minute question and answer session. Questions asked by students typically relate to important points that require further clarification or to issues that remain unresolved from classes or texts. Whilst students are free to leave at the end of session 2, past students of CPAP lectures suggest that this session is not to be missed!
